Statement of Our Beliefs
Bible—We believe that the Bible is the Word of God without any error, the sole authority for life and faith (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
God—We believe that there is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:13-17; Matthew 28:17-20).
Jesus—We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, was wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven (Matthew 1:20; Luke 2:52; John 1:1-4; Hebrews 1:1-3).
Holy Spirit—We believe that God the Holy Spirit is active in convincing unbelievers of their need for salvation, and is the Comforter and Guide Who lives in every believer (John 16:7-13; John 14:16-17; Ephesians 1:13; 1Corinthians 3:16).
Humanity—We believe that humanity is a special creation of God, made in His image, but that through the sin of the first man, Adam, humanity fell so that all persons are sinners and need salvation (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23).
Salvation—We believe that salvation is a gift received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9).
Baptism—We believe that water baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation (Mark 1:9-11; John 3:23; Acts 2:41; Acts 8:35-39; Matthew 28:16-20) .
Assurance—We believe that every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16; John 10: 27-30; 1John 5:13).
Church—We believe that the church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head. The New Testament speaks also of the church as the Body of Christ which includes all who have received salvation in Christ presently and throughout all ages (Matthew 16:18; 1Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 3:20-21; Ephesians 4:4-6).
Eternity—We believe that those persons who die in their sins without Christ spend eternity in Hell and those persons who die with their sins forgiven through Christ spend eternity in Heaven (Matthew 25:46; John 14:1-6; Philippians 3:20-21; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:1-8).
Christ’s Return—We believe that Jesus Christ will literally return to earth (Matthew 24:29-31; Acts 1:7-11; 1Corinthians 4:5; Revelation 22:6-17).
